Moharli Zone
The iconic core zone of Tadoba, Moharli is home to the park's most photographed tigers including Maya and her lineage. Dense forest with excellent waterhole sightings.
Kolara Zone
Southern entry point bordering Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. Kolara is celebrated for open meadows, gaur herds, and spectacular tiger sightings in summer.
Junona Zone
A buffer zone with jeep-only access, Junona offers serene teak forests, crocodile lagoons, and sightings of sloth bears, wild dogs, and leopards.

Insider Advice
6 Expert Tadoba Booking Tips
Book 30–45 Days in Advance
Tadoba permits are limited per zone per slot. Core zone jeep permits sell out rapidly, especially for October–November and March–May. Early booking secures the best zones and timings.
Prefer Morning Safari Slots
Tiger activity peaks during morning hours when they patrol waterholes and hunting grounds. The morning slot also offers cooler temperatures and better photographic light conditions.
Carry Valid Photo ID for Permits
All adults require a government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport) for entry into the core zone. Foreign nationals must carry their passport. Digital IDs are accepted.
Wear Muted, Earth-Tone Colours
Bright colours disturb wildlife and reduce sighting opportunities. Khaki, olive, brown, and grey are ideal. Avoid red, blue, and white. Perfume and strong deodorants should also be avoided.
Choose the Right Zone for Your Group
Families with children benefit most from Moharli and Kolara zones which have better road quality and higher tiger density. Solo photographers should opt for Junona or Khutwanda for exclusivity.
Book Multiple Safaris Across Zones
A 3-night stay with 4–6 safari slots across different zones dramatically improves your wildlife encounter rate. Our tour packages are designed to maximise sightings through intelligent zone rotation.
Quick Answers
Tadoba Safari Booking FAQs
Submit your inquiry via our booking form above or WhatsApp. Our safari concierge reviews availability, confirms the zone and slot, arranges permits through the Maharashtra Forest Department, and sends you a detailed itinerary within 2 hours. No advance payment is required for inquiry.
We recommend booking at least 15–30 days in advance for regular season travel and 45–60 days ahead for peak season (March–May, October–November) and festival weekends. Core zone permits are allocated in limited numbers and get exhausted quickly during peak periods.
Cancellations made 7+ days before the safari date receive a 70% refund of the booking amount. Cancellations within 3–7 days of the date receive a 40% refund. Cancellations within 72 hours of the scheduled safari are non-refundable as permits cannot be reissued by the Forest Department in that timeframe.
Children below 12 years do not require a separate Forest Department permit fee. However, all persons entering the core zone must be listed on the jeep or canter permit. Infants in arms are generally accommodated at no extra cost. Please inform us of all group members including children when making an inquiry.
April and May offer the highest tiger sighting probability (80–90%) as water sources dry up and tigers congregate near the few remaining waterholes. October–February offers comfortable weather with good sightings. March is excellent for a balance of temperature and tiger activity near waterholes.
Same-day bookings are very rarely possible as Forest Department permits require advance issuance and vehicle registration. Last-minute cancellation slots occasionally become available through our concierge network. We strongly advise booking at least 48–72 hours in advance to avoid disappointment, especially during October–May.
